Welcome to the Aerospace and Defence Sustainability Club

LATEST NEWS

Olive attended the Farnborough International Airshow earlier in July, promoting the Aerospace and Defence Sustainability Club. The show had a great turnout of guests and exhibitors, with lots of seminars and events to attend. More details of the industry's commitment to sustainability will follow shortly.

For full details of activities at the show click here.

THE CLUB

Following the initial success of the Aerospace Resource Efficiency Clubs, funded by Envirowise and SEEDA, the name of the Club has now changed to the Aerospace and Defence Sustainability Club and membership is open to more businesses in the Aerospace and Defence sector.

The Club's focus is on achieving Sustainability for its members, through a range of practical measures including:

  • Sustainability and Environmental policy
  • Resource management, such as energy, water, materials, transport and waste
  • Regular Club meetings as a forum for swapping of good business practice
  • Training opportunities in environmental and waste management
  • Access to specialist organisations and other services such as focused surveys
The Club is based in the South East, but is open to any business operating in the Aerospace and Defence sector.

MEETINGS

Regular meetings are held, either at Farnborough, Southampton or at member sites. We are always looking for members to host the events and if you are interested please contact us. These meetings enable the sharing of good practice among aerospace and defence businesses, focused advice and information on a rnage of issues - past subjects have included Sustainable Procurement, Energy Management, Environmental Management Systems and Legislation. Speakers have included specialist energy consultants and industry representatives such as Boeing.

We are very keen that the meetings result in useful and practical solutions to problems businesses in this sector face. As a result the aim is to prevent the meetings turning into 'talking shops' but to develop focused action plans or to signpost to useful information and advice.

NEXT MEETING:

22nd OCTOBER 2008, 10am to 2pm, cost £50 + VAT
2 Venture Road, Southampton Science Park, SO16 7NP
